Spring Trophy Walleye on the Detroit River
Enjoy a Detroit River Walleye Trip, April through May, with the captain who developed the Vertical Jigging technique.
Limits of BIG Walleyes on the Detroit River!
Catch your limit of big walleyes on 5lb. ultra-light tackle aboard the PREDATOR ® II! Captain Steve Jones was one of the original pioneers of the light tackle verticle jigging method of fishing walleyes in the Detroit and St Clair Rivers. Over the last 30 years he has perfected light line vertical jigging techniques by fishing with such greats as Al Linder, Bob Izumi and others. As a matter of fact, Capt. Steve Jones has more verticle jigging experience than most other charter boat captains on the Lake St Clair and the Detroit River combined.
The In-Fisherman Walleye Guide has listed a trip with Steve to be among the Top 15 Walleye Dream Trips in North America.
This style of river fishing requires a properly designed boat to be able to slip the current properly and hold on the fish, the PREDATOR ® II is professionally rigged offering comfort and safety when aluminum and other smaller boats can not, as a matter of fact the PREDATOR ® II IS UNSINKABLE. Yet still able to hold on the fish when lighter aluminum, clumsy pontoon, and catamaran type boats can not in anything less than (rare) perfect conditions.
April and May is the time that the Detroit River produces some of the biggest walleye of the year and limit catches are expected.
