Steve Jones and In-Fisherman: Perch Tips

Lake Saint Clair Jumbo perch fishing peaks in late summer and fall when many of the lakes muskie, walleye and smallmouth bass anglers focus their efforts on catching limits of perch, some surpassing 14 inches. Perch/crappie rigs baited with minnows, leaf worms, or shrimp work best while fished in 12-18 feet of water when anchored. As the fish move in shallower, fishing with slip bobbers will produce excellent catches when fished in the weed beds. Limits of 50 fish per angler are not uncommon!
